# Potential bug - Selecting a single line of text in chat window, automatically scrolls the chat

### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

### Describe the Bug

When I tried to select a single line text in the Chat window. It automatically scrolls the chat window.

### Steps to Reproduce

Just try to select a single line of text partially in the chat window.  
It won’t work, when you try to select multiple lines of text.

### Expected Behavior

The scrolling shouldn’t have happened!

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report and the screen recording. I tried to reproduce the issue, but I couldn’t get the same behavior.

A few questions to help narrow it down:

- Are you using a mouse or a trackpad to select text?
- Does this happen in every chat, or only in long conversations when you scroll up?
- Does restarting Cursor help?

Any extra details about the conditions when this happens would be helpful. Thanks!
