Pro plan - confused about included usage % vs dollar amount

Hey,

Been using Cursor for a couple days now on the Pro plan and I’m a bit confused about how the usage tracking works.

On my dashboard I can see my “Included” spend is almost at $20, but my “Included Usage” percentage is only at 12.8%. So which one actually triggers the block when I hit the limit — the dollar amount or the percentage?

Also if I do hit 100%, does it cut me off completely or does it fall back to Auto mode?

And last thing if I upgrade to Pro+, is it literally 3x the included usage, so like 300% instead of 100%?

Thanks

Hey, quick answers on all three:

  1. Spending % is what controls your Pro quota. That’s the metric that determines when you hit the limit. Usage $ is just an informational estimate of the retail value of what you’ve consumed. It can sit above $20 because the included allocation is often worth more than the subscription price. It does not bill you and does not trigger any limit.

  2. At 100% you don’t get auto-switched to Auto mode. Your included allocation is just used up for the cycle. If you have on-demand spending enabled in settings, usage continues at pay-as-you-go rates. If not, you wait until the cycle resets or upgrade.

  3. Pro+ included is $70 vs Pro’s $20, so it’s effectively about 3.5x more headroom. The 3x copy on the upgrade screen is approximate. The bar still tops out at 100% on Pro+. It just represents a bigger underlying allocation.

Short version: watch Spending %, ignore Usage $ for billing purposes.
