Importing “Remote Rules (GitHub)” is documented as follows:

Project open \> Customize \> Rules \> New \> Remote Rule (GitHub)

For me there is no “Remote Rules” Option?
I selected a project instead of my user. Only new rules can be created inside the project but not imported?

I use the Pro-Plan?

Any suggestions?

Hey, thanks for the report, and this isn’t an issue with your setup. Our docs are outdated here. The flow described (Customize \> Rules \> New \> Remote Rule (GitHub)) no longer matches the current UI. On the new Customize page, + New only creates an empty rule, and there’s no GitHub import option there.

The actual import feature (it’s now called Import from GitHub/GitLab) lives in the classic Cursor Settings \> Rules. But in recent builds, after the recent Customize change, that tab may be hidden, so the option won’t show up.

A reliable workaround that does the same thing as the import is to clone the rules repo directly into `.cursor/rules/`:

```bash
git clone <repo-url> .cursor/rules/imported/<repo-name>
```

Nested folders and `.mdc` files are picked up automatically, so the Agent will see them without any extra steps.

I’ve flagged the docs mismatch and the missing option in Customize to the team. If there’s an update, I’ll reply in the thread.
