Renderer OOM crash (code -536870904) every ~3 minutes on Windows — 128GB RAM, reproducible

For me, there is definitely a problem with 2.6.11 and 2.6.12. I’ve installed 2.5.26 today, and I’m able to work again. If you do this, set auto updates to none/manual.

My problem is, is there going to be some form of compensation?

It’s literally unusable.

Also when it edits a file it deletes everything and reads it because I see like

+1367 -1367 everytime.

Then it slows down heavily.

Cursor is constantly deleting and regenerating the entire buffer..

This is clearly a memory leak on their side and while it doesn’t eat up all my computers memory, it clearly leaks enough to crash it due to poor performance of the software.

After looking into the memory issues it seems like the Cursor might be leaking objects into the JS Heap.

This is assumed from reading multiple people here, what the were doing and comparing it to my own.

I’m currently using it to take raw transcripts and filter it into jsonl for LoRA training for AI which is perfect for V8 heap blowups.

Please fix this. I just want this usable!!!

Same issue. It crashes every few minutes, causing me to lose my chat progress and waste my tokens.
I’m on version 2.6.11.
Has anyone been able to find a good version to roll back to? This is unusable as it is.

I had it to one task yesterday, left my computer and came back to

I feel sick, it’s definitely eating tokens too.

yes - 2.5.26 works for me. it’s on the downloads page

Same problem

Same here, the main workspace which combines two separate repos into a workspace keeps crashing after 1 min of opening Cursor. I have Windows 11 and code in WSL remote.

Only this workspace crashes, every other folde works, even combining the repos with symlinks in a new folder crashed, so not using the workspace file, I have tried everything, reinstalling, removing everything etc. But only this workspace matters to me, so that’s it.

I have been an Ultra user but very much seems I have to ditch Cursor if this isn’t resolved.
Would like some quick help with this, I am already setting up new tools, but would not want to use time for learning a new tool after 1,5 years with Cursor and working currently in a busy early stage startup.

Edit. Stopped crashing after switching to use old version 2.5.26, but that is not a viable option in the long run.
Edit. Edit. Crashing again with OOM 1 minute after openin Cursor even with the older version. I guess I thought it doesnt crash because it hadnt still tried to scan some files or something.
