Hello Cursor Team & Community,

I am a teacher at Gurukul (official domain: gurukul.edu.bd), an educational institution in Bangladesh.
We have a growing number of students who are interested in using Cursor for learning programming, AI-assisted development, and modern software engineering practices.

Our institution provides official academic email addresses such as:

However, many of our students are facing difficulties verifying their student status because our domain is .edu.bd instead of the traditional .edu.

hi @Sofia and thank you for your interest in our student program. At this time we are onboarding students within specific .edu regions.

In the future we will expand the student program and will make an announcement once we are are ready.

Please let me know what are your university’s policies for student email addresses:

  • What format do student vs staff email addresses have?
  • When do student receive the email address, under which conditions?
  • Who issues them at the university?
  • What measures are taken so that email addresses or subdomains of your university domains are not sold/given to 3rd parties through which they could create university email addresses.
  • What format do email addresses for alumni have?
  • At what point to students lose access to their student email?
