Service upgrade inquiry

After trying out Cursor in free-tier, I’m considering moving upgrading to one of Cursor’s paid services. Will there be any disruption to my current projects that I’ve been building under free-tier? Is the transition seamless, or should I anticipate complications (e.g. access to new/different models might take a build down a different path that with Cursor’s native models)?

I’m somewhat new myself but since no one has replied - I’ll jump in here. No, I don’t think it will affect your project direction whatsoever. You are free to choose the exact same models and configuration that you have been using. It’ll give you the ability to move in different directions, but it’s entirely up to you! I’ve learned a TON doing this, it’s been a lot of fun. If you want help and useful feedback I’d suggest trying Claude Opus 5 1M Max Effort… I was amazed at how intelligent that model was, it really actually taught me how to use the program so much more efficiently. You can spin up a remote worker on your local machine with a terminal and give it access to your filesystem and screen, it’ll take screenshots of your screen if you ask it to and show you exactly what to do. If you dont want that to affect your project just open that chat in a different folder / repo and tell it you’re just looking to use him as a sounding board. It helped me immensely. Have fun and good luck!

Hi Joe, I appreciate your response and guidance. I’ll certainly check out Claude Opus 5 for my projects that allow some latitude in development path. Using it as a sounding board for ideas about repos without yet making changes sound great to me. Thanks for your support!

Just go light on it, it’s FAST and VERY intelligent but it burns through tokens like crazy if you give it a lot to do! Happy to help =P
