Shared Canvases dashboard is personal-only while docs and changelog promise team-wide discovery

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Publish on a canvas is documented as team sharing. In practice, teammates cannot discover published canvases at all.

The Shared Canvases dashboard only lists canvases the signed-in user published. Official support has also said that is working as designed, which contradicts the product copy.

This is not the multi-team “Canvas Not Found” / canvas-frame 404 issue. The share exists. Team discovery does not.

Documented / shipped behavior:

  1. Docs: Canvases | Cursor Docs — “Shared canvases turn an interactive artifact into something your whole team can open, not just you.” … “browse everything your team has published from Shared Canvases on the dashboard.” … “Because each share is team-visible, you need to be on a team…”

  2. Changelog: Shared Canvases and /loop Skill · Cursor — “You can now share canvases from Cursor with your team.” “View your team’s shared canvases in the Cursor Dashboard with read-only access.”

  3. In-product: Publish is presented as sharing with the team. There is no UI that says this is only listed for you and that teammates must receive the URL out of band.

Actual behavior:

  1. I published a canvas. It appears on my Shared Canvases page.
  2. Other members of the same team open the same dashboard while signed in. They do not see my canvas. I do not see theirs.
  3. There is no team catalog, notification, or in-IDE surface for a teammate’s publish.
  4. Cursor staff confirmed this on existing reports (topics 170149 and 165714): the page is a personal view of canvases you have shared, and the only way to view someone else’s canvas is a privately forwarded share link.

Today the feature is advertised as team sharing and implemented as “copy a link and hope they find it.” Agents and users follow the docs and conclude the feature is broken.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Two users on the same Cursor team, Shared Canvases enabled in team settings.
  2. User A creates a canvas in Cursor IDE and clicks Publish.
  3. User A opens the Shared Canvases page on the Cursor dashboard and sees the canvas.
  4. User B opens the same dashboard page, signed into the same team.
  5. User B’s list does not include User A’s canvas. The only way for User B to open it is if User A privately sends the share URL.

Expected Behavior

One of these, not both at once:

  • Product matches docs: the Shared Canvases dashboard is a team catalog. Any member of the publishing team can find and open teammates’ publishes without a side-channel link.
  • Docs match product: changelog, docs, and Publish UI stop saying “your team,” “team-visible,” and “browse everything your team has published.” They should say the dashboard lists only your own publishes and that teammates need the raw share URL.

Operating System

MacOS

Version Information

Cursor IDE 3.17.21 (macOS 26.6.2, darwin 25.6.0)

Additional Information

This is a product/docs mismatch, not a failed agent request, so there is no Request ID.

Staff replies on the related threads treat the personal-only dashboard as intended. That cannot coexist with the current docs and changelog, which tell users and agents that the whole team can browse published canvases from the dashboard.

Please either ship team-wide discovery, or update the docs, changelog, and Publish UI so they stop describing a team catalog that does not exist.

Related existing reports: “Shared canvas is not visible to other members in my team” (topic 170149) and “Shared Canvas discovery issue” (topic 165714).

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Stefan_Eilers, thanks for the detailed report, and you are right that the docs and the dashboard currently describe two different things.

Today the Shared Canvases page on the dashboard lists only the canvases you published yourself. Teammates on the same team can open any canvas you publish, but they need its share link (Publish, then copy the link from the canvas toolbar). There is no team-wide listing on the dashboard yet.

We are correcting the docs and changelog wording so they match this.
