### Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

### Describe the request

It would be so nice to have the monthly limit usage progress within our billing cycle.
It could be located after the Agent selection and before the token usage ring at bottom right. Either as another ring or a progress bar.
Currently it’s available through the File \> Preferences \> Cursor Settings \> Plan & Usage
If we have a Cursor Model selected than the cursor models usage would be shown.
if “Auto” agent is selected I presume it’s the “Other Models” usage that would be shown?

Thanks a lot !

I’m answering my own question. It’s currently possible with the setting below.
Why not turn this on by default? Would someone prefer to not show it?

Hi @Francois1 Yes you’ve got the right idea! It’s also visible in the Agents Window, the left circle shows you your monthly usage and the right circle shows your context usage for that particular conversation. You can click on the circle to see more detailed information.

As for why it’s not on by default, I think that’s just to present a cleaner, less crowded interface for you!

There are three issues/improvements I see on the current implementation:

1. The second ring only appears in non-IDE agent chats, not in the IDE (which is actually the only place I use).
2. In the screenshot of the previous reply a Cursor Agent was selected but the usage is shown for “Other Models”, which is a mismatch. Since Grok is selected it should show “Cursor Agents” usage progress. Or did I miss something?
3. It should be turned on by default. I don’t see any reason that we would want it not easily accessible. I presume it was not turned on because it wasn’t thought through when it was added. A tiny 20 pixels light gray ring is not what I consider cluttering.

I don’t know if this helps, but my extension Cursor Cost Tracker has a summary view that shows usage and the drop-off after the 60% mark, plus a prompt you can paste to continue in a new chat.

Install it in Cursor: Extensions → search Cursor Cost Tracker (`lukasz0303.cursor-cost-tracker`).
