Side Chats feature (v3.11) not appearing despite being on latest update

I updated Cursor and it reports itself as the latest version, but I don’t see the new Side Chats feature that was announced for v3.11.

Side Chats is enabled on v3.11, so it’s not missing from your account. Two things usually hide it:

  1. It only lives in the Agents view (the Agents Window), not the classic IDE-view chat. Switch over if you’re in IDE view.
  2. Start one with the /side command (it absorbed the old /btw). It only appears after a chat has at least one message, since a side chat branches off an existing conversation. Send your first message, then type /side (or /side <your question>).

The “plus button” mentioned in the changelog isn’t broadly rolled out yet, so /side is the reliable way in for now. More detail here: Side Chats (3.11 changelog).

Ohh It’s only on Agents Window? man it would be cool if its added on IDE as well
