Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. You didn’t switch to Grok yourself. New chats were defaulting to Cursor Grok 4.5 for a while via a promo flow, even if you were previously using Sonnet. This is a known bug, and it matches what we’re seeing with other users.

What you can do right now:

  • In the model picker, select the model you want Sonnet 5, etc. Your explicit choice inside the chat is respected, and Grok won’t override it.
  • If you want to remove Grok entirely, go to Settings > Models and disable it there.

On the second part Grok was slow and kept asking you to retry, like the network was dropping. If you hit this again, please send the Request ID in the chat: menu in the top right > Copy Request ID and an example of what exactly felt sloppy. Then we can look into answer quality separately.

I’ve already reported the silent switch internally. I’ll post an update in the thread as soon as I have one.
