Sort MCP servers by status (enabled first)

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Feature Request:

It would be very helpful if MCP servers in Tools & MCP could be automatically sorted by their status.

Proposed behavior:

Enabled / active MCPs (green) are grouped at the top

Disabled MCPs (grey) are grouped at the bottom

Optional: secondary sort by name within each group

Why this matters:
When working with many MCP servers, it’s hard to quickly see which ones are currently active. Since enabled MCPs are the ones that actually affect the agent behavior, surfacing them first would significantly improve clarity and workflow speed.

This would be a small UX improvement with a big impact for users running complex MCP setups.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the request! This is a nice improvement for managing MCP servers.

There’s a similar request about categorizing MCP servers here: Categorized MCP Server Management. Both are aimed at making it easier to work with lots of servers.

I’ll pass your request to the dev team. Sorting by status, with enabled at the top, would really help with a quick check of active integrations.
