i have googled and looked through the forums and all i can find is to disable the settings in the agents tab but the setting is not there for me.
i just want to not spend a minute opening my text editor.
Hey, the setting didn’t disappear. It was moved and renamed, so older guides with the toggle in the Agents tab are no longer up to date.
Update Cursor to the latest 3.12.x, then open Cursor Settings gear icon and go to: General > Startup > Window Restoration. Select Last Used Windows. You can also find it by searching for startup in Settings.
One note: if the Agents Window was open when you quit Cursor, it may open again on next launch even with this setting. To break the loop once:
- Open a normal editor window:
Ctrl+Shift+Pthen Open Editor Window - Close the Agents Window
- Quit Cursor from the editor window
Alternative: launching cursor -n <folder> or --classic always opens the classic editor directly.
