in cursor IDE when recording a voice input I want my music to stop or just go softer ?

Cursor doesn’t control other apps’ audio today, so it won’t pause or lower your music when you start a voice recording. The good news is that the mic capture uses echo cancellation and noise suppression, so background music usually doesn’t affect transcription much.
If you’re on Windows, there is an OS-level option worth trying: Control Panel > Sound > Communications tab, then choose “Reduce the volume of other sounds by 80%”.
Windows can then lower other audio automatically when an app starts using the microphone.

Cursor transcribe voice to text is very good! So well done on that.
