There must have a temp file for changes the can be cleared somewhere.

I found the temp files in %AppData%\Cursor\User\History and sort the folders by modified date. Then you should find your affected files in the entries.json in one of the latest folders. I just deleted these folders and itā€™s seems to fix it

Reported the same or a similar issue here - basically unuseable - "Local" selection still works in the worktree

Iā€™ll be switching to an alternative if this continues - Kilo Code.

I had a whole load of files with changes which I couldnā€™t get rid of. From the other answers, my fix seems to be:

  • Delete everything (or whatever you choose) from git directory
  • Open Cursor
  • Restore everything using git
