i’m having the same issue. i had mistakenly tried to initiate the student verification when logged-in to my personal account.

Tried getting the “we have succesfully confirmed your student status” email. but the apply discount does not work when i did login to my .edu email address.

This is what it is like dealing with Customer Support… Here’s the updated last two emails…

Since you’re having issues with the student verification, I recommend reaching out to SheerID directly at FAQ Page and filling out their contact form. We use SheerID as our verification service provider, and they’ll be able to help you with the verification process.

Hi, I verified my student status, and it was succeesful. However, the first time I clicked the link, I was using my personal email, and it failed. Therefore, I registered another account using my student email, but it still doesn’t work even I click the link again. Could you please have a look? Thanks!

My student status has been successfully verified via SheerID. However, when I log into my Cursor account with my verified email (the university email), I only see the standard page, and there is no option to apply the discount—even on the payment page!!!

I have the same issue → when clicking the discount button on the email saying that im verified it takes me to the cursor account but no discount applied at all.

Is this offer not active any more? I have the same issue as everyone but I see we are many

Hi, I got the same problem as many elses - I login with my personal email, verify for student discount using schoole email, which is not good but I didn’t know - and then when I knew that, I used my school email to log in, but it doesn’t allow me to verify again any more.

Unable to Join Cursor Student Program – My University Doesn’t Provide .edu Email :disappointed_face:

Shame on you people from Cursor for limiting student discount for US universities, shame on you! The most privileged people with the most privileged education are entitled to not pay while the normal poor students from the rest of the world still give you 20 dollars per month while your customer service simply ignores everyone asking for clarification. This act is shameful and would deserve a journalistic investigation.
I canceled my cursor subscription and I don’t want anything to do with Cursor for life. Github copilot is not payed to bias and favor US Academia, I strongly suggest any researcher,student or anyone in the scientific community to drop Cursor until they explain this decision.

Seems like im also one of those that have the same problem as others. I do not have any edu. email as it is not provided by my school whatsoever I was able to continue with SheerID verification and came as far as I was able to get the below mail:

However when I then try to access the pricing page then it still asks for 20$ and im pretty sure it should be 0? Why and how did someone solve it?

Could you please help me to cancel the failed applying one, and reapply my student discount to my student account?

I had verified my account but still no student discount. Is it because still of the .edu account? My school email doesnt use .edu. :slightly_frowning_face: SheerID did verify it though.

Anyone else who signed up, verified their email but is still being charged 20$ per month? I’ve tried emailing them about this and at first got responses but then got told I will be transferred to an agent and haven’t been responded to since.

I just reverified but the link it gave me to apply discount does not apply the discount!
