Student Verification Issues

While you may see posts here similar to your case, please state with short message what issue you have, as that will help me ask you for the right info and reply to you faster.

Kindly note that verification is also being actively improved as well though we do not process documents manually here in the forum.

As many others here, after uploading my passport or ID I click the link in the email and it says We had trouble validating your id.

after a while of waiting in the queue.

I then contacted the support staff and got an autogenerated email to which I had to again reply the email.
After some time I again reapplied of student verification but didn’t realize there was a count for how many times we can apply.

This led to me getting

Verification limit exceeded
”

I again have contacted the sheerID people but I am yet to receive an email reply from them.

Please help me as Cursor is a really important product for me but as a Student I can not afford it yet.

this entire thread is a great anti advertisement for SheerID lmao. I will know who not to pick if I ever need identification management

I attempted to verify my student account for the first time through my mobile device and was constantly sent a loop of emails that wanted me to re-input a picture of a valid form of id. I did this several times and now it says that I have exceeded my verification attempts. My account does not say that it has the student membership active.

I am having same issues here too.

Hello — I tried to verify my student status with SheerID three separate times. Each attempt failed, then I received a “Verification Limit Exceeded” notice. I opened a support ticket with SheerID; after six days they replied only that they “are unable to process your verification request” and permanently closed the ticket, without explanation or appeal.
I’m not posting documents publicly — I can provide any of the following if you DM me: current student ID (front/back), official enrollment letter, transcript, and passport or U.S. green card. I’ve checked my images (full, unedited, well-lit) and name info matches what I entered.
I’m happy to DM ticket references and upload files via whatever secure channel you prefer. Thank you.

I’ve also get the same problem with many others, I tried to verify my student status using my passport as instructed on the process and it returning a “ We had trouble validating your ID” and also my National ID card which is also failed. Now my Verication Limit Exceeded. I’ve even tried to contact their support.

Hello, I tried verifying my student status with the SheerID form but could not do so because it didn’t work with both my passport and my student ID. After trying it multiple times, I got the message that I embedded in the second image. Please help and thank you!

Hi @condor ,

After submitting my student ID, I received an email and link saying that “This verification is expired.” I tried several times, but it eventually led to a “Verification Limit Exceeded” message. The SheerID team advised me to submit a new verification request, but I’m unable to do so because of the same “This verification is expired“ and “Verification Limit Exceeded” issue.

Could you please help me resolve this? Thank you so much!

Hello! I’m having the same issue as almost everybody. I tried to do the verification but it gave error validating my ID and I don’t understand why.

@condor Having the same issue as other people here: tried submitting ID but it failed, kept trying and it kept failing and now I’ve hit “verification limit exceeded”. SheerID won’t get back to me even though my college is on the list and my ID is valid
