I’m a university student at ESEIAAT, one of UPC schools, from Barcelona, Spain.
I first tried the verification with ESEIAAT school and SheerID said they couldn’t verify my student profile. Then, I tried with UPC and now it says “We were unable to match your ID to the details you entered on the form. Please try again.” When it is obviously right.
I have a friend from another UPC school who did it, so it seems like an error maybe with the no allowance of repeated submissions?
I attempted verifications and failed, so tried several times with a few different photos of my ID but kept encountering error, SheerID saying “problem with the photo of the submitted ID”. Now I find the “Verification Limit Exceeded” error. This was the first time I applied for this program.
@condor I am also getting “We’re glad you’re enthusiastic, but it looks like you’ve already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer.” I asked sheerID but they are just closing the ticket with message “contact cursor team“. Please help me sort out this and help me avail student discount. Thanks in advance.

I reached out to SheerID, but they closed my ticket and told me to contact the Cursor team instead. Could you please help me resolve this so I can access the student discount? Hello @condor, I reached out a while ago to the Sheer support, but have not received any response from them at all. I’m getting the same “We had trouble validating your ID. Please contact SheerID support.” as everyone else. Could you reach out to me? Thanks.
@condor I am having this same issue. I tried to verify as a student and an error with my document upload 4 times. So I sent an email to SheerID and waited for a few days. Haven’t heard back from them so decided to just try again and it says the verification limit has been exceeded. Please help me figure this out all my coworkers love cursor but I can’t afford as a student right now.
@condor I am facing the same issue. Uploaded clear scans of my passport in two separate attempts, but both of them failed during the verification stage and now I get “limit exceeded“ message. Contacted SheerID support to no avail. Is there an alternative way for me to redeem the student offer?
I have spent the last couple of hours trying to get the cursor plan to work. I filled out the information with me real name and information, and then used my driver’s license. Still has not worked. please please help!

@condor I’ve tried three times to get the student offer, but SheerID keeps saying, “We had trouble validating your ID.” I’ve submitted clear photos of a valid ID, but still no luck. I even contacted SheerID support, but they haven’t done anything.

@condor I’m experiencing the same issue. I’ve tried verifying with my driver licence and passport multiple times with no luck. I’ve also contacted SheerID but only received a generic “please try again” response. I’m studying in Australia and have registered with an edu.au email. Thanks
I’m PhD student @ Northwestern university and tried several times to upload the state ID even with white background putting paper underneath. every time, I get an email from “sheerID” try again!!! I have already registered with university email. I’m exhausted by the emails communicating with “sheerID”.
I am a student at Stanford University and recently registered for an account using my university email.
After verifying my email, I uploaded my passport for ID verification as prompted. I never received a confirmation or reply, and my account still appears to be unverified.
Now, when I visit the verification page, it shows the following:
I am getting the error “We had trouble validating your ID” three times now as well, despite uploading a valid unexpired picture of drivers license. Please fix this
I get the same issue. I’m a PhD student at York University and Sheer isn’t able to validate my ID. I’ve emailed their support staff a week ago and they haven’t responded.

I contacted SheerID, but they closed my ticket and directed me to the Cursor team. Could you help me resolve this so I can access the student discount? I’m a student at a Polish university. I’m having trouble completing the student verification process through SheerID for the Cursor student offer.
I’m a current student at RMIT University (Melbourne) and have submitted all the required documents, including my valid university ID and government-issued IDs. However, my verification keeps getting rejected every time, and I’m not sure why. All my documents are up-to-date and clearly show that I’m an active student.
Since Cursor already has a student plan available, I’m hoping someone from the team or anyone who faced a similar issue can help me understand what might be going wrong or what additional steps I should take.
