Student Verification Issues

I tried the student verification discount, however, the page shows verification exceeded limit time. I have never redeem the student discount before. Kindly, help me redeem this offer

I got verified through SheerID with the email address I’m currently using to log into my Cursor account which is this and it ends in @rit.edu, however I accidentally accepted the offer through my Google account tied to this account which is @g.rit.edu. Now, I had the SheerID support send me the details for the completion of my verification process and they even resent me the offer email to get the Student plan however whenever I accept it - the Cursor dashboard shows that I can still apply for the student verification status and that I’m still on Free plan.

TL;DR I accepted the student offer through wrong email and now I cannot get the student offer anymore…

I’m currently a student at a U.S. university and I do have a valid .edu email address that matches my Cursor account.

However, my verification attempts kept failing, and now I’m seeing a “verification limit exceeded” message, so I’m no longer able to try again.

I have obtained an official enrollment verification document from my university, but since I cannot submit another attempt through SheerID, I’m stuck at this point. Could someone please help me with this?

I contacted support about a month ago but haven’t received any response yet.

Hello. I tried to access cursor premium for students sometime late last year. I kept on getting a sheerid Error saying “We had trouble validating your ID:” and after a few tries I got blocked and it just says “Verification Limit Exceeded We’re glad you’re enthusiastic, but it looks like you’ve already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer.”

I recently wanted to check out cursor again and was wondering if sheerid verificaiton would still be possible here. Thanks!

I keep getting error: The document is insufficient for establishing eligibility for this offer, even though I’ve submitted enrollment verification, tuition, and class schedule with my name and institution name visible.

I’m a currently enrolled full-time student at Miami Dade College (public community college in Miami, Florida).

Miami Dade College does not issue .edu email addresses to students — only to faculty/staff.
The official student email domain for all students is @mymdc.net [ADMIN - Condor: redacted PII].

This domain is used for Canvas, MDConnect portal, Microsoft 365, financial aid and all official college communications.

I already contacted support directly and received a reply from Sam on February 25th, but was told I need a .edu address.

I am ready to provide all required proof privately via DM (or secure email):

  • screenshots from official MDConnect student portal showing my active enrollment

  • current class schedule / enrollment verification

  • student ID card

  • any other documents the team needs

Could the team please do a manual review of my student status for the free 1-year Cursor Pro student offer?

Could you please help me getting this as I am also facing the same issues others have faced. In fact, one of my colleague from my university has previously got himself verified previously. I cannot think of any reason I could not get verified. There might be something wrong with the verification process.

Please kindly help. I’ve tried submitting a transcript and a tuition receipt to no avail.

Now I’m met with this. SheerID is of no use as well, I’m met with this useless response. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi! I’m stuck in the SheerID → Stripe step.
My SheerID verification is approved, but after clicking the SheerID confirmation link I’m not redirected to Stripe checkout, so the student Pro plan is not applied.
SheerID support confirmed the verification is approved on their side and that they can’t help with Cursor account/checkout activation.
Could a team member help investigate/resync the entitlement on the backend? I can share my SheerID Request ID and proof via DM if needed. Thanks!

I’m also having trouble with student verification. I tried to verify months ago but after submitting my student ID and driver’s license to no avail, I got rate limited and could never try again. I contacted sheer ID and they just gave me a copy-paste response. I can provide proof of everything.

Any chance I can restart the verification process and know what ID I actually need to submit? Thanks.

I tried to sign up with my student email (it ends in edu.pk), and my access seems to be blocked.

I’ve used SheerID before to verify my student status so I do not know if this is an issue from their side or cursor’s. I think it’s because of the domain being .edu.pk and not .edu

Hi everyone, hoping someone here has experience with this specific situation.

I’m a CS student at CSU Global (accredited, .edu email) and I’ve been trying to get verified for the student plan. I submitted everything I could find — official transcript, unofficial transcript, current Spring 2026 registered courses, paid student invoice, and student ID. SheerID came back with a “final determination” saying they can’t verify me and won’t offer further details or manual assistance.

I reached out to Cursor support and got the AI bot twice, both times saying SheerID’s decision is final and Cursor can’t override it.

Here’s what I think may have actually caused the problem: I didn’t fully understand the instructions early on and created a second Cursor account with my .edu email, in addition to my existing primary account. I think SheerID’s fraud detection may have flagged that as suspicious rather than it being a real documentation problem.

I’ve now sent SheerID a separate message specifically about the duplicate account — not asking them to re-review my documents, but asking if they can clear the technical flag.

Has anyone dealt with a duplicate account lockout specifically? Did SheerID ever correct it? And has anyone gotten a real human at Cursor to weigh in on something like this?

Any help appreciated — I just want to use the tool I’m in school to learn with. :folded_hands:

@cursor_ai I’m a CSU Global CS student with a 3.96 GPA. I submitted 5 documents to SheerID (official transcript, registered courses, paid invoice, student ID). Got a ‘final determination’ denying me. Your support bot keeps telling me nothing can be done. I’m a real student just trying to use a real tool. Can a human please look at this? :folded_hands:

@condor I’m stuck in the same loop. I have a verified GitHub Student Developer Pack (Oriol-sketch), but my Spanish University email (@alumno.uned.es) is being rejected by the automated system.

Hi @condor , I’m completely stuck in a loop. My student verification (using my active .edu.pl email and valid documents) failed multiple times, and now I’ve hit the “limit exceeded” error. SheerID support told me to contact Cursor, but Cursor support only routes me to an automated bot. Could you please help verify my account? Thank you!

Cannot Verify the documents. I tried uploading my Transcripts, Tution Fee also my Passport. Nothing works. Please help.

I had signed up for Cursor Pro Student in December 2025 and was able to use it fine. I even purchased extra credits during that time as needed. My Pro subscription was revoked recently without any notice or reason. I know you are revoking subscriptions for students/fakes for some countries but I am currently a student in United States of America and also successfully verified using SheerID. I request you to please re instate my subscription as I really need it for my education. I can provide any proof of enrollment if you need to verify my status.
