I am from Colombia. I can’t verify my educational status. It says that I have to have a email.edu. But my email is .edu.co. I am currently studying at UNAD (Open and Distance National University) i would like to have cursor because I am working in data science in sociology projects from my university.

My verification was approved by sheer ~48hrs ago, and my Cursor account remains free. emails match, names, etc.

I am an academic member at the University of Cádiz (UCA), and I am stuck in a technical loop regarding my student discount. I would appreciate human assistance to reset my verification status.

The Issue:

  1. Verification Approved: SheerID has already verified my status (Verification ID: 69e5eb40c6f1ae76742e9a8d).

  2. Email Mismatch: My status was verified via my university alias [email protected], but my Cursor account uses [email protected].

  3. The Block: Even though I have a .edu.es domain, the dashboard says “Not eligible” and SheerID blocks any new attempts with a “Limit Exceeded” error because I am already verified in their system.

The Deadlock: SheerID Support (Aranya G.) explicitly stated that: “The verification request forms are linked to your Cursor Pro account, and only Cursor can reset them.” However, the automated email support (Sam) keeps closing my tickets (T-C29890) without performing the reset.

Request: Could a human team member please manually reset the verification flag for my account [email protected]? This will allow me to re-apply using the correct email as per SheerID’s instructions.

I have successfully completed SheerID verification using both of my university email addresses:

Both verifications were approved successfully. However, Cursor still does not recognize my student status correctly.

Current issue:

  • My Cursor account still shows as “Free”

  • “Verify student status” still appears in Settings

  • Clicking “Apply Discount” does not activate the student plan

Hi I have received the verification email and clicked the “apply discount” button. However, when my account opens, the system still asks for the full payment instead of applying the student discount. Could you please check my account via DM? Thank you.(ı have used my student mail ends with .edu)

I am trying to claim the 1 free year Cursor student offer. SheerID first showed “We are unable to verify you at this time.” I was using Brave browser and did not realize Brave Shields/adblock/privacy settings might interfere with verification, so I retried a few times.

Now SheerID shows “Verification Limit Exceeded.” I have not successfully redeemed the offer.

Could you please help reset the student verification flow for my account, or advise how I can complete manual verification?

I claimed my student discount for the Pro plan a few months ago. During the plan, I upgraded to Pro+, which refreshed the billing cycle date. I then cancelled the plan before the cycle completed. Now I can’t resubscribe to Pro for another month with the student discount - SheerID stated I’ve already verified.

I accidentally attempted student verification on another Cursor account and now I get “Verification Limit Exceeded”. It was verified by SheerID but the student offer was never successfully redeemed on any account. No Pro subscription was activated. Could you please reset my verification attempts so I can verify my student status again?

the canned response is not from SheerID but Cursor. Yall really got fooled by Cursor when they’re the ones using AI to handle these issues. I have been verified by SheerID and is still didn’t get Cursor’s promo. I have used SheerID on Gemini and ChatGPT without any issues. This is Cursor’s job to grant the promo they’re advertising

I’ve uploaded my Driver License twice in order to verify my student status but whenever I click the link in the email sent by [email protected] I face this error:
We are unable to verify you at this time. If you believe you received this in error, please contact SheerID support.

I contacted the SheerID support and they sent me this email

“We have reviewed your request and we were unable to process your verification request. While we can’t offer further details or support for this specific inquiry, please ensure all information submitted is accurate and meets the eligibility criteria for future attempts. Your ticket has now been permanently closed.”

I tried again to verify my student status and now it doesn’t let me do it anymore
I get the “Verification Limit Exceeded” error now.

but when I click on the “Apply Discount” button (using the same .edu account that was approved), my dashboard exhibits these symptoms:

1.) Cursor account still shows as free

2.) “Verify student status” still appears in Settings

3.) No discount appears in the Stripe checkout screen for Cursor Pro

I am a currently enrolled student at Misr University for Science and Technology in Egypt.

I am trying to apply for the Cursor student offer, but my university/country/domain may not be available in the SheerID verification flow.

My university email domain is: must.edu.eg

Could you please advise whether students with .edu.eg university emails are eligible, or whether there is any supported way to complete verification?

I’ve been doing research on Cursor and the company seems to be actually shadier than I expected. I’m preparing to file a complaint with California Attorney General. Their whole student discount is false advertisement and only serves as data harvesting purposes. Cursor needs to be held accountable.

Hello, I am a student and am recieving this same error. Submitted my documents for verification, provided everything including name and required fields with multiple forms of verification and it is still not being processed. Would greatly appreciate help resolving this issue. Thanks!
