Subagent status gets shown twice, "Starting up" gets stuck

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

When clicking on the “N working” badge, it shows the same subagent twice. One shows the actual progress, the second shows “Starting up”.

Steps to Reproduce

Start a task with subagents. For me it happens several times a day (but not always).

Expected Behavior

Clean subagent status.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report and the screenshot. I can see a duplicate subagent row in the tray, and one of them is stuck on Starting up.

This is a display-only issue. The subagent is working fine. The real one is the row where you can see live progress. This is a known issue and we’re tracking it. I’ve shared your report with details macOS, 3.17.8. I can’t share a timeline yet.

If you notice a pattern, like the duplicate showing up right after starting multiple subagents at once, let me know here. That would help us narrow it down.
