I’m considering subscribing to the Pro plan. Based on this usage pattern, would the Pro plan generally be enough for a full month of heavy daily Auto usage? Approximately how much Auto usage is included in the Pro plan, and what happens when I reach the limit?
I’d also like to know whether I would need to enable On-Demand usage to continue working after the included usage is exhausted, and how much additional cost I should expect.

The $20/month Pro subscription is usually sufficient for about a month. I’ve been using it for a year now, always on Auto mode. Only in one particularly busy month did I activate two Pro subscriptions, but I didn’t end up using the second one fully. However, I heard the billing rules are changing in a few days, so I’m not sure if it’ll still be enough.
It’ll depend the type of work you’re doing, but I think Pro would be worth it, especially if you’re planning on using regularly. I’d start there and see if you still need to enable On-Demand. You might not.

Auto isn’t a separate unlimited pool. It’s smart routing between models. Requests sent via Auto use the same monthly included usage as the regular models. Auto usually picks a more cost-effective model, so your included usage typically lasts longer than if you manually run premium models all the time.
Whether Pro $20 per month is enough for heavy daily frontend development depends on your usage pattern. For some active users, the included usage lasts the whole month. For others, it runs out before the reset. There’s no one-size-fits-all number.
When your included usage runs out, you have a few options:
wait for the monthly reset
turn on on-demand usage using Set new limit and keep going pay-as-you-go, you set your own spending cap
move to a bigger plan if you consistently hit the limit
Tip: start with Pro and see if you hit the limit with your real workload. Only enable on-demand if you actually need it. If later the usage numbers don’t match your real usage, that’s something support can look into case by case at [email protected].
