So how does Cursor’s current “Generate commit message” actually work? In my experience, it sometimes manages to produce a commit message that fits the need, but most of the time it just doesn’t cut it.
But since it doesn’t seem to be a paid feature, the output quality being hit or miss is kind of forgivable.
It’d be great if we could configure which model it uses and the prompt for generating commit messages in settings. That’d make it way more flexible and versatile across different scenarios.
