Support for Claude Models on AWS Claude Platform

Feature request for product/service

API Keys

Describe the request

With the Claude Platform on AWS generally available: Claude Platform on AWS - Amazon Bedrock – AWS, it would be great if Cursor supports accessing Claude models via this AWS-hosted Claude platform.

Specifically, to support them, users would need the ability to Override Anthropic Base URL like we do for OpenAI Base URL.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the feature request! We do have an existing feature request tracking support for overriding the Bedrock/BYOK endpoint in this area.

To be candid, this isn’t currently near the top of our roadmap, so I don’t want to imply it’s imminent. That said, we understand the desire here.

would love this feature too.

same. this would be more useful.

Describe the request

With Bedrock being increasingly weeks behind model releases and gating limits I think it’s a good time to add Claude Platform on AWS directly into Cursor IDE.

Hey @apex777

As far as I recall, Opus 4.8 was put on Bedrock the same day it was generally released. What am I missing?

It was, but 4.7 wasn’t and AWS is limiting access to only certain accounts. You do not get either model by default. Only 4.6.

4.7 and 4.8 are not available by default, they must be requested and limits are pretty low. That’s even if they give you access. We have a decent spend and won’t provide 4.7 + 4.8, so we have moved to Platform but now can’t use Cursor.

Being able to use it natively via Claude Platform AWS would save all these headaches.
