Describe the request

Cursor should support a global AGENTS.md file that applies in all projects. Claude and Codex already support this (at ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md and ~/.codex/AGENTS.md respectively). Cursor could use ~/.config/agents/AGENTS.md (there is already a proposal to make this the standard) or ~/.cursor/AGENTS.md.

I have multiple agent harnesses. Symlinked to one AGENTS.md so all tools uses same source.

Sadly Cursor doesn’t support this.

I’m also really looking forward to this feature. Most other harnesses have an equivalent.

How come this isn’t supported yet? How hard can it be?

This would be very much appreciated, given that I am doing a lot of work through Kanna lately and regularly using different agents in different conversations. Only having repo-level guardrails/preferences is quite limiting.

+1 I think it should follow the same convention as Grok Build and read from ~/.grok/AGENTS.md.
