When switching between running threads in the Cursor IDE it often goes to the middle or top of the chat and it is extremely annoying. I want it to be consistently at the bottom of the chat thread each time.
Steps to Reproduce
Run 2 threads, ensure they’re ongoing for a few minutes, switch between them.
Expected Behavior
The UI should show the current point in the thread, not some random point in the thread when switching between threads.
I cannot provide an exact reference, however this occurs extremely often and should be producible with little effort. Simply have 2+ threads, continued chats within each (ie. multiple prompts), switch between them and you should notice inconsistencies on where the UI shows the chat from.
For now, as a workaround, use the “Scroll to bottom” button in the bottom-right corner of the chat pane. It jumps you back to the end of the thread instantly.
One note: in newer builds with the updated chat renderer, the behavior changes a bit. When you switch, the view tries to stick to your last message instead of always going to the very bottom. So you might see different behavior between builds. If you notice it’s more stable in the latest versions, or worse, reply here. That’s helpful.
