The Cursor AppImage crashed with TRAP when importing from VSC on first run

Describe the Bug

When I instructed Cursor-1.2.1-x86_64.appimage to import from code-1.101.2-1750797987.el8.x86_64, it crashed (with signal TRAP).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. #!/usr/bin/env bash
    ./Cursor-1.2.1-x86_64.appimage

  2. Import all, when prompted to.

Expected Behavior

It should always import from VSC, without crashing.

Operating System

Linux

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

I see no way to access this:

Additional Information

I’d provide a trace, but I’ve yet to ascertain how to for an .AppImage:

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

I also saw the undermentioned upon window closure:

[main 2025-07-05T11:18:04.486Z] [UtilityProcess id: 1, type: fileWatcher, pid: 72879]: crashed with code 15 and reason 'killed'

Nothing’s registered in coredumpctl, though.

@RokeJulianLockhart thank you for the detailed bug report. Could you please elaborate what you mean with importing from VSC? what steps do you use for this?

@T1000, apologies. I mean that on first run, Cursor asks the user whether they want to import their preferences from Visual Studio Code. I chose to, which caused it to crash.
