# The folder is not showing

### Describe the Bug

I select the folder, open it, but Cursor won’t display anything—I don’t understand what’s wrong.

### Steps to Reproduce

File \> Open Folder \> Folder

### Expected Behavior

Nothing

### Operating System

Windows 10/11

### Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 2.2.20 (user setup)  
VSCode Version: 1.105.1  
Commit: b3573281c4775bfc6bba466bf6563d3d498d1070  
Date: 2025-12-12T06:29:26.017Z  
Electron: 37.7.0

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. Let’s quickly check the basics.

Please try:

- Show Explorer: View → Appearance → Primary Side Bar, then `Ctrl+Shift+E`
- Toggle sidebar: `Ctrl+B`
- Open a different folder from local disk
- Run without extensions: close Cursor, then in terminal `cursor --disable-extensions`
- Reload window: Command Palette → Developer: Reload Window

And please share:

- Screenshot of Cursor window with visible Explorer and window title
- Does it reproduce on all folders or just one (specify path, e.g. `C:\...`, network drive, OneDrive, WSL)
- Logs and errors:
  - Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console, screenshot or copy of errors
