The popup for telling me about the iOS app disrupted my work!

I was in the midst of pushing changes to git when not only did I get an extremely intrusive LARGE popup telling about the iOS app: 1. it crashed Springboard and 2. I lost my train of thought about something I had to do for the PR I was pushing and I forgot to do what I had to do.

This kind of popup stuff for a coding tool is ridiculous. It’s turning this tool into one clearly not intended for professional work. We have work to do so stop interrupting us!

I just got a full screen blocking marketing dialog advertising Cursor’s new app. Randomly jumped up as I was typing in the chat window. Again, full screen, blocking as in took focus away from what I was typing, and blurred the background. Complete lack of respect for paying customers.

Love the feature, but please do not push an ad to my cursor instance. I get you want users to know about it, but I love my ide for simplicity and focus, not to be filled with ads.

Shameless, annoying and invasive. Please stop doing this, or at least give us a toggle to disable unsolicited new feature notifications.

The twitter/X-ification of Cursor has begun

Yeah this caused errors with WSL too, which I was connected to before updating and Cursor reopened the window, causing an error where neither the WSL instance nor the ad loaded. I had to exit Cursor and open an instance in Windows directly. Terrible…
