I was on holiday, and even with just two weeks of use, I’m now being forced to use Auto, easily the most useless feature.
I’ve used Cursor for over a year, and from the beginning, they kept pushing questionable features and changes without transparency or clear value. Instead of improving the core experience.
Now companies that adopted Cursor for their teams are being forced to reconsider, thanks to this confusing token system and rising costs.
So yea, if your strategy is to keep a handful of $200 users and hope to survive 2026, good luck with that.
after trying to use auto and paying VERY close attention to the prompt here is the verdict: “auto” mode is unpredictable ■■■■ 80% of the time and unusable for real work (if you do any thing more complex then simple UI generation, accent on the simple!)
Im disputign all transaction with my bank for Cursor- I think you all should too. They got 900M in investment- Since having this product, its gotten way way way worse. They limit you drastically with the usage to Claude. This = the onyl reason at all to have cursor - their auto agent totally ■■■■■.
DISPUTE WITH YOUR BANK! Its the only way they will listen.
Based on this extended estimate, I only used about 300 and it’s gone. Before, I could get 500 for continued slow pools, but the price increase is significant
Might you suggest alternative options? The current one seems utterly impractical, as the cursor is no longer functional, and I require something reliably operational.

I respect that, but the background agents are an added layer of uncertainty related to billing. I am vibe code dependent, and my bill went from okay to wtf! The auto is a super buzz kill. I begin scrounging for funds to pay cursor and when low, just settle but then my complex project becomes a mess only cleaned up by paying the invoice and using a premium model. For the first time after millions of lines of code with cursor, I’ve decided to go the Claude code route. Just completed my first file change and unit test. It’s not cursor but it’ll have to do. In my scooby dooby newbie days 5 months ago, this would have been a nightmare but now, I can vibe with it. I am thankful for cursor and really wish I could afford to keep using it but pricing has compelled me to find an alternative. Hopefully we see something similar to the 500 fast requests again! But before we get too use to using claude code.
“What users are using” is not the claim on the pricing guide. That would include people making 0 requests to Sonnet 4 and people who didn’t even use Cursor this month.
The claim is that of the users consuming their full allocation and not going over, half of them made over 225 Sonnet 4 Requests OR 550 Gemini OR 650 GPT4.1
So, who are the users making over 225 Sonnet 4 Requests per month and not going over the Limit ?
Can you advise on how I can make 225 Sonnet 4 requests without reaching the limit, like half of Cursor users.
Because I made 30 requests and used up half my allocation.
i always get message “Your conversation is too long. Please try creating a new conversation or shortening your messages.” even just writed one message to bot, i paid for PRO but its so long compare even to free version
