Not sure if this is a bug but ever since the release of anthropic’s first thinking model (sonnet 3.7 thinking) cursor responses only used thinking tokens at the very start of the response but not at the subsequent steps of the response. The same behavior is observed when using the new sonnet 4 thinking on cursor in normal mode. I thought that was the intended behavior until i saw a video on youtube of a developer trying out sonnet 4 thinking on cursor in normal/non-max mode where it thinks at the start of each and every step of the response (quite like how windsurf responses behave when you select sonnet 3.7 thinking). So now i’m thinking is it a bug that in my account it only “thinks” in the first step?
EDIT: Problem fixed. Now Sonnet 4 uses thinking tokens at each tool call. Many thanks to whoever fixed it!
