I’m currently located in the United States (CST) but have lost my streak and my profile is registering that it’s already a new day.
I was previously located in the United Kingdom so I was wondering whether my profile is still using that time zone? It’s throwing me off though and I liked having that streak as a little motivator.
Hey, thanks for the request. This isn’t about an old time zone. Your profile doesn’t store your timezone anywhere. Streak and the activity heatmap are calculated by UTC calendar days for everyone.
When you were in the UK, local time was close to UTC, so the day boundaries felt right. Now in US Central, the UTC day flips at 19:00 CDT or 18:00 CST, so your evening sessions started landing in the next UTC day. Because of that, one UTC day, July 17, ended up with no activity and your streak reset.
To keep the streak from US Central, you just need to do any activity before 18:00 CST or 19:00 CDT so it definitely counts toward the current UTC day. There isn’t a setting you can change for this, and sadly we can’t restore a streak that’s already lost.
