Operating System

Windows 10/11

Version Information

N/A - this applies to the web dashboard

Additional Information

It now appears that is is not possible to know token usage and nominal cost when using Auto. The change occurred May 14th.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This isn’t a bug, it’s expected behavior. Auto requests that are included in your subscription show up in the dashboard as Free, with no token breakdown. This was clarified on purpose in recent backend changes.

Billing, limits, and tracking are working correctly. The table just doesn’t show a token breakdown for included usage. For a better high-level view of spend, it’s easier to use the spending graph: https://cursor.com/dashboard/spending

This was also discussed here if you want more details: Auto Showing 0 Tokens in usage. A team member confirmed that for included/free usage it will now show - instead of tokens.

Let me know if any numbers look off, and we can dig in.

Thank you for your response.

I don’t understand why the useful information has been removed.

The previous configuration that displayed the number of tokens used and nominal cost was helpful because currently I am on an unlimited Auto subscription which expires in September.

The token/cost information was helping me to budget for actual costs when unlimited Auto is removed from my plan in September. Although the Auto tokens are included in the plan, they still exist - I am still consuming those tokens, but now I can’t see my usage.

This means that for the next 3 months, I will have no idea what my consumption is, and will be unable to budget for resubscribing.

Am I missing something? How can I determine my usage so I can budget for the upcoming changes to my plan?

Hi,

You asked me to advise if the “numbers are off”.

There are no numbers!

I can’t see how many tokens I am using.

I understand that Auto tokens are ‘included’ in my subscription, but they are not ‘free’, and I am using tokens.

I would like to know how many tokens I am using so I can budget for when my current subscription ends. This will enable me to determine which plan to subscribe to upon renewal. Without that information, I am not going to be in a position to resubscribe to Cursor as I will have no idea what my requirements are.

Please can you advise how I can see how many tokens I am using with Auto - I have looked at the links you provided can’t find the answer.

Thanks.

Hey, got your request and it’s a fair one. Being fully honest, right now there’s no way in the dashboard to see token count for included Auto usage. Anything that’s included in your subscription shows up as Free or -, and the spending chart only shows usage that’s billed separately, so it won’t help in this case.

So yes, for included Auto we don’t currently show a token breakdown. That’s a limitation of the current dashboard, not something you can turn on from your side.

A rough proxy you can use today is the Usage page. It shows the Auto requests themselves as daily counts even when they’re marked Free. It’s not tokens, but it at least gives you a sense of activity volume for planning.

Your scenario makes sense. You need consumption visibility to plan a move off unlimited Auto. I’ll pass this to the team as a request to improve visibility for included usage. I can’t promise a timeline or that it’ll ship, but I’ll make sure the feedback is logged. If anything changes in the dashboard around this, I’ll reply in the thread.

Thank you replying. I appreciate your honesty in advising that this data is simply no longer available.

It’s a puzzle to me, as the data was available up until 14th May on my usage log, so it appears that someone made a conscious decision to remove the ability to see the token usage and nominal cost.
