UI Rendering Issue: Agent Window UI Collapses/Fails to Render Content Fully on Launch

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

When launching Cursor with the Agents window open simultaneously, the UI fails to render completely. Instead of showing full details, file blocks and action cards collapse into raw text lines (e.g., showing only plain “Edit file”, “Thought”, “Explored” labels without full code diffs or expanded details), as shown in the attached screenshot.

Steps to Reproduce

Open Cursor while the Agents window/panel is active from a previous session.

Observe the initial rendering of the Agent activity/output stream.

The panel content remains visually broken or stuck in a minimal plain-text representation until manually refreshed or toggled.

Expected Behavior

The Agent window should properly render rich UI components (code diffs, expandable action details, and full block contents) automatically on startup.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi @George_Gao Thanks for the post! This is the compact activity view in the Agents window. Completed steps are intentionally collapsed to keep conversations easier to scan.

Click any row to expand its full details. If a row does not expand, or you’re facing other issues, let us know and we can take a closer look.
