I’d love to see Cursor introduce an Ultra Plus (Ultra+) plan aimed at people working on very large projects who rely heavily on AI-assisted development.
I’m a Nutrition & Dietetics student, not a software developer, but I’m currently building a professional nutrition web app from the ground up. For people like me, Cursor isn’t simply a coding convenience-it is what makes it possible to attempt projects that would otherwise require years of programming experience or a development team.
I’ve spent months planning the application before and during development. I created detailed, structured schematics specifically to make the development process as efficient as possible, and I currently have almost 400K tokens of specifications and schematized documentation describing how the application should work.
Even with that level of preparation, I’m reaching a point where I’m genuinely wondering whether $400 worth of usage, while using Grok 4.6 Medium to maximize token efficiency, will be enough to finish a project of this scale.
This is why I think there is room for an Ultra+ tier above the current plans.
For example: Ultra+ = $500/month ($1,000 worth of included usage)
If a $500 plan offering around $1,000 of usage existed right now, I would subscribe to it without hesitation.
In fact, the beginning and middle stages of a large project are exactly when this kind of plan can matter the most. At this stage, I’m building foundational systems, implementing a very large specification, debugging architecture, and iterating constantly. Having substantially more included usage would not just allow me to generate more code, it would give me much more confidence that I can actually carry the project through to completion without constantly worrying about exhausting my available usage.
I think there is an emerging category of Cursor users that may not fit neatly into the traditional developer profile: non-programmers, students, researchers, domain experts, founders, and professionals who understand their field extremely well but use AI to bridge the software-engineering gap.
Some of these users will build surprisingly large projects.
They may also be willing to spend significantly more than a normal individual subscription if the economics are attractive enough compared with hiring developers.
For someone like me, $500/month is a very substantial amount of money, especially as a student. But if that $500 gave me approximately $1,000 of usable model capacity and substantially increased my chances of completing a project I have spent months designing, I would consider it completely worthwhile.
An Ultra+ plan could therefore serve a relatively small but extremely high-usage group of individual builders who need substantially more capacity than Ultra provides, without necessarily needing an enterprise product.
I would seriously consider adding this tier. I suspect I’m not the only person using Cursor to build something this large and want a higher tier plan.
