Unauthorized/Unauthenticated error on every Agent request - macOS

What you tried: Reinstalled from DMG, signed out/in, cleared auth storage—issue persists
Error: ERROR_UNAUTHORIZED / [unauthenticated] on every Agent request; chat history missing

Steps to Reproduce

Opened Cursor on macOS
Started a new Agent chat
Typed a message and submitted
Immediately received “Unauthorized request. [unauthenticated] Error”
Chat history from previous sessions is also missing
What I already tried:

Signed out and signed back in
Moved Cursor from DMG installer to Applications folder
Cleared auth storage folder (~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/User/globalStorage)
Expected behavior: Agent responds normally

Actual behavior: ERROR_UNAUTHORIZED on every request, isRetryable: false

Hey, thanks for the detailed report and the request IDs.

Since you’ve already tried signing out and back in, reinstalling the app, and clearing the auth storage, and the issue is still happening, it looks like we’ll need to check this on our server side.

For now, there’s one more thing you can try:

  1. Open Cursor settings (gear icon) and click Sign Out
  2. Fully quit Cursor (make sure there are no Cursor processes left in Activity Monitor)
  3. Delete the entire folder ~/Library/Application Support/Cursor (not just globalStorage)
  4. Open Cursor again and sign in

If this still doesn’t help, please wait while we dig into it on the server side. I’ll post an update here as soon as I have news.
