Recently I experienced 3 withdrawals (20 USD each) from Cursor AI. The problem is that these purchases were not done by me. It was an unauthorised purchase…
I immediately reached out to your team via your request email (please check, it’s from a.mavlyanov15@gmail.com). However, up to now there has been no reply whatsoever.
I had to create an account here to hopefully get some assistance.
I would appreciate your assistance with getting the above unauthorised withdrawals refunded and any subscriptions under my card cancelled.
I’m trying to figure out how this could even happen, because someone out there would have had to have obtained your payment details. There’s no way Cursor could have just magicked them out of thin air (nor would they have any desire to). It sounds like theft of your details from somewhere else, and then someone’s used them to buy services.
These forums here are just user forums, they’re not support. The Cursor team do check here occasionally, but the right thing to do is to mail them hi@cursor.com and if you don’t hear back, then mail them again. They’re undoubtedly extremely busy right at the moment, but something like this is obviously serious and you’ll want to get a response as soon as possible.
I’d also strongly recommend you get in touch with your payment provider: if someone’s obtained your details to use them somewhere like this, they might use them somewhere else too. I don’t know what kind of payment it was, but if it was on credit card, definitely contact your credit card company right away. Depending on your jurisdiction, the card company may well be jointly and severally liable for the transaction – in other words, since they facilitated it, they owe it to you to reverse it. Speak to them as soon as possible and find out where you stand. You may also need to get a new card number for fraud safety.
If you’ve been a victim of identity theft, you may find there are also law enforcement resources available to you in your country, so that may be worth researching too.
Again, sorry to hear about this, it sounds very stressful, but hopefully you’ll be able to get it resolved as soon as possible.
