Undo / revert changes button fails to appear

Describe the Bug

When an agent completes a task, there are times where the undo button does not appear on the latest changes. Only closing and re-opening Cursor seems to fix the issue, temporarily, until it happens again. The end result is that I have to close and reopen Cursor every time I ask the agent to make a change.

Earlier undo buttons still appear in the same agent chat, which makes it seem like at a certain point in the chat, the agent becomes unable to revert changes.

Steps to Reproduce

I am not sure why this occurs sometimes but not others.

Expected Behavior

The undo changes button should always appear.

Windows 10/11

Not Cursor-breaking, but incredibly annoying.

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known intermittent issue the team is already working on.

Things to try:

• Use the “Keep All” / “Undo All” buttons in the chat sidebar instead of the editor buttons - they often work even when the editor buttons don’t appear
• Reload the window: Ctrl+Shift+P → “Developer: Reload Window”
• Widen the chat pane - buttons can be hidden if the pane is too narrow

For diagnosis, please share:

• Do the “Keep All” / “Undo All” buttons in the chat sidebar work?
• Any console errors when this happens? (Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console)
• Which model are you using (auto or a specific model)?
• The Request ID from an affected chat (chat context menu → Copy Request ID)
