Unnecessary Subscription Reminder Keeps Showing Up

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Every time I open a new chat a reminder about the expiring subscription shows up. This is

  • Unneccessary, because it’s repetitive
  • Distracting
  • Makes no sense 1 month in advance
  • Is intentional by my choice, so I am already aware of that fact and don’t need to be reminded

Steps to Reproduce

End your subscription, open a new chat in Cursor AI

Expected Behavior

  • Either show it once or never.
  • After clicking on the “Manage Billing” button presented it should definitely never show up again

Version Information

IDE Version 2.6.18

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report.

A couple of clarifications about the current behavior: the banner gets dismissed for 5 days, then it shows up again. There’s also no link to how close the end date is. It appears right after cancellation, even if there’s still a month left on the subscription.

Another user already raised a similar topic: In-agent advertising: no means no.

I’ve passed the feedback to the team. I agree that dismiss should respect the user’s choice more.

The banner never gets dismissed. It stays there forever. Clicking on the button will dismiss it only until the next chat is opened.

I am using version 3.0.12 and it keeps coming up repeatedly!

@Hans_Muster If your subscription is set to cancel, and you dismiss this message, you should not see it for another 5 days. Does that match what you’re experiencing?

No, it’s certainly more often than that. Sometimes it even reappears right after I dismiss it.

Also what sense does it make every 5 days? Why do I even meed a reminder? I know I have cancelled! And if I forget, well, it will stop working. And that is the only and best time to tell me why.
