Upgrade for more usage. Get more credits on higher plans

Good afternoon,

Yesterday I created a Landing page using the Cursor Agent, but I didn’t realize that the Model was set to Sonnet 4.5.

Today, I started receiving limit warnings.

My question is: are the credits daily, weekly, or monthly?

Hey, thanks for the request. Limits reset monthly based on your billing cycle.

Each month, your usage counter resets on the start date of your billing cycle. For example, if you subscribed on the 15th, your limit will reset on the 15th of every month.

I’ve been using Cursor Pro for almost a year, on a daily and intensive basis, and I’ve never had to add extra credits. This month, I was surprised to see the message:

“You’ve hit your usage limit. Upgrade for more usage. Get more credits on higher plans.”

At first, I assumed I might have worked more than usual, so I added more credits. My plan costs $20, and I added $10, expecting that half of the plan would reasonably last at least half of the next month, even overlapping with the renewal date.

However, the credits were exhausted again in less than two days.

This feels very unexpected and concerning.
Is this a bug? Was there any recent change in usage limits, pricing, or credit consumption that I might have missed?
I’d really appreciate clarification on why the credits are being consumed so quickly now.

I just had same issue 2 days ago and my cursor experience is becoming a nightmare. my practice and codebase is same but my usage exploded and I consume my credit in few days, to me there is a change in requests management by the IDE

Same here! Also a “Upgrade for more usage. Get more credits on higher plans”

I ALWAYS use Auto, never another option. I have not had this issue before and I’m sure I’ve hit it much harder for longer pushing major changes to entirely new codebases… And now that limit came around a lot faster…

I hit the limit after: [Jan 01 - Feb 01]: 47,025 / 104,398 Lines of Agent Edits and 70 Tabs Accepted

In [Nov 01 - Dev 01]: 71,617 / 151,096 Lines of Agent Edits and 241 Tabs Accepted. I did not find the limit here!

My $20 is still $20 so I’m not sure why the limit is lower now…
