The available plans are the following:
-
Pro:
- $20
- 1x pricing and 1x usage
-
Pro+:
- $60
- 3x pricing and 3x usage
-
Ultra:
- $200
- 10x pricing but 20x usage (actual value add here)
Given Cursor’s new pricing/usage model (basically per-token cost outright), why should I upgrade to Pro+ and run the risk of paying $60 without reaching that amount of usage vs using Pro with on-demand usage turned on?
If I just stay on pro and turn on on-demand usage I don’t run the risk of paying for what I DON’T use (under the assumption I am always getting at least $20 worth of usage per month).
Yeah, I’m confused about this as well. It seems almost pointless to have multiple tiers of plans when they’re charging on top for using the models that won’t write bugs in your code.

i have pro + plan. what i’ve got is
having no limits on auto ai
and with others you just can use 3 times more
but for daily use if you thing it will be enough then you might be right.
because i almost dont code because ai does and i check what did he do. Auto ai is sometimes stupid but you can deal with that.
mons of the time i use sonnet 4.5 thinking which is soo good but expensive
it’s like you can make 4-6 request to auto ai
but to sonnet 4.5 thinking you will make 1 time and he will solve the task
