When will the Cursor Pyright extension be updated?

Hi there!

I was wondering when the Cursor Pyright extension will be updated? The last update is from 2025-12-01 so it is still using basedpyright v1.32.1, even though the last basedpyright version is 1.37.1. The latest version has a feature I would like to use :slight_smile:

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

Cursor’s Pyright gets updated from time to time, but there’s no specific schedule. The last update was in December (v1.32.1), and basedpyright is indeed already on 1.37.1.

Also expressing interest in this (also interested in a feature in a recent version of basedpyright).

I think that given licensing constraints with Pylance, it’s likely valuable to try to keep near-parity by regularly updating the basedpyright version that Cursor’s Pyright uses, at least for now (if it’s not too difficult).
