Update to latest version, Source Control pane issues, loads slow, and when it loads, no history.

Expected Behavior

Being able to use Source Control with a modern IDE.

Hey, thanks for the report. This is the same issue discussed here: No Agents working and No source control providers registered. Sometimes the extension host doesn’t initialize after an update, so the built-in Git extension doesn’t activate and Source Control shows up empty.

The workaround from the accepted answer usually works in about 10 seconds:

  1. Close all open files and Agent Chats.
  2. Open the same project in a New Window File > New Window > select the project.

If that doesn’t help, try killing all Cursor processes and restarting, or delete ~/.config/Cursor/Cache and start again.

This is a known bug and it’s being tracked. I can’t share an exact ETA for a fix yet. Let me know if the workaround helped.
