While Agent was coding, switching to Ask stopped it

Describe the Bug

An agent was running, I switched to Ask and started typing into the field, the Agent abruptly stopped after noting “I am in Ask mode”

Steps to Reproduce

Run a long running coding task in Agent mode, while agent is running, switch to Ask mode and start typing, see if it stops.

Expected Behavior

Switching modes should not affect currently running agent.

Hey, thanks for the report. I see the screenshot with the agent stopped. That’s unexpected behavior, and you’re right that switching modes shouldn’t interrupt the current task.

This looks like a new bug in 2.4.21.

Can you share the Request ID from this chat? Open the chat menu (top right) > Copy Request ID. This will help the team figure out what triggered the stop.

As a workaround, please don’t switch to Ask mode while the agent is running. Let it finish the task, then switch.
