Why chat ask mode are disappeared?

Im using mac os. I found a bug that ask mode was vanished from chat mode select section.

there are no information about this bug I can found out.

Hey, that’s pretty strange. Could you share a screenshot of the mode selector? Also, let me know which version of Cursor you are using.

I’m getting the same issue and it doesn’t seem to matter which model I’m using.
I just downloaded the latest update today, which is when the issue started (running Cursor version Version: 1.6.22 running on Windows):

Same here, just installed the new update and can’t find a way to enable it again.

For now as a temporary fix, I created a custom mode that does not allow the agent to edit files.

Same here; did the auto-update as prompted by Cursor, and now only Agent mode shows as an available option for all of my models; Ask mode has disappeared. I’m on Windows.

I reinstalled Cursor, and after updating macOS the problem was resolved. However, it seems that many people are still experiencing the same issue. I have reported this problem to customer support.

Update: The Ask mode will soon be restored for those affected, it was an issue that is rolled back.
