Why when I choose to user Claude Sonnet 4.6 in API agent mode, it is actually using Sonnet 4.5?
Hey, thanks for the report. I see the screenshot: the picker shows Sonnet 4.6 Medium, but the run summary at the bottom says Model(s): claude-sonnet-4-5.
Good news, you weren’t downgraded. Your requests were actually handled by Sonnet 4.6, as selected in the picker. The claude-sonnet-4-5 line in the final summary is just a display artifact, the model sometimes self-identifies as 4.5, but that’s not the model doing the work. The source of truth is the model selector at the bottom of the window.
So you’re on 4.6, and you’re not being billed for 4.5. We’ll fix the label in the summary. If you notice anything else weird, let us know.
