This looks like a known issue with file permissions for .cursor/rules/. The team is already working on a fix.

To help diagnose your specific case (related to switching accounts), could you share a bit more info:

  1. How exactly do you switch accounts? (Cursor Settings > Sign Out > Sign In with a different account?)
  2. Does it happen every time you switch, or only sometimes?
  3. Do all .mdc files lose permissions, or only specific ones?
  4. If it happens when the AI agent tries to modify a rules file, please share the Request ID (right-click the chat > Copy Request ID)
