WSL Connector updater seems broken - unnecessarily re-downloads every time

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

EVERY time I open Cursor, I have to wait several minutes for “Starting VS Code in WSL…”
It should NOT download anything, when it’s already got it. It should just use it.

Steps to Reproduce

Connect to WSL.
reboot
Connect to WSL again.

Expected Behavior

Never downloads more than just the 1st time.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

@ravirahman - excellent idea! this could well be the reason cursor made their own in the first place. I’ll let you know how it goes.
