14 days trial lasted 3 hours

Thanks for clarification; I think auto used for some reason gpt-5, but as I do not use Cursor at the moment (cannot), I will not retest it, but others complained about it, yes., too.

For other ais; I am heavily considering giving Grok a try after some quick tests.

I know this clearly, because AUTO doesn’t use reasoning models at all it runs very fast, while GPT-5 is very slow in all its versions.

Grok is excellent, but so far, as an agent, I’ve been disappointed with it it couldn’t call tools. If it works for you, I’d be glad to hear.

Actually for me it was extremely slow in auto mode, extremely. I was wondering. Maybe a specific bug, I do not know, but exactly the way GPT5 works, even same ā€˜wording’.

I do not know yet; As I have some good piece of hardware I am thinking about making a local test; I haven’t decided on anything yet. And this week I will give a paying trial for a month for Github copilot probably. I have too little time :frowning:

Enjoy I tried it too. The completely free, unlimited GPT-4.1 was very nice, but they had something where it took forever for the agent to finish applying the changes. I assume they’ve fixed it I can’t believe they would leave such a terrible bug.

Oh, trust me, I could tell a lot about product design failures a lot. What annoys me that most of the companies simple do not care at all.

Unfortunately, I agree with you.
I once asked someone from the team some features are things that take just a moment to develop and fix, so why does it take a year for all kinds of small bugs, or small missing features that would solve a lot of problems, to get fixed? Or why do they never fix something at all? I never understand that.

I’ve thought several times that I should develop such a product myself, but then I realized it would take me way too much time, and I dropped the idea because tuning agents is a nightmare.

I spent too much of my life pushing gently devs to the right direction… They do not care, management do not care, customer will pay anything with full of bugs. As they - in many times - have no real alternatives. As we are forced to Win11 by Microsoft, I am so much disappointed related bad UX, privacy leaks, etc. that I am thinking to switch to Linux again. And I literally hate linux as from driver approach it is a nightmare.

I agree with every word, but I don’t see how we’re going to change the world tomorrow. I have a feeling that if Elon Musk built a product like Cursor, then it would be good because it sometimes seems like they listen to complaints there. But that’s just how it looks; I’m not sure. Maybe we should ask him to create a competitor.
Regarding Linux have you ever used it?
From my experience, you suddenly find that countless programs you’re used to just don’t work for you.

I cannot stand Elon Musk, same guy as all the rich ones. The whole society is a mess for today, but it is very much offtopic here; The core it rotten in everything.

As I wrote, I am thinkig going BACK. As I use many win-only (or used many Win-only) apps, I never had the option to leave win, but I used Linux and even OSX for a while. OSX still my favorite; win7 was perfect for me (also XP), I did not like Win10, and I wholeheartedly hate WIn 11.

To be honest in Dos times I used less cmd than in win11. Honestly.

I have two funny things to say with a wink:
You’re too old.
If you take Grok, you’re taking Elon Musk.

Yes, I am too old. I see the way things getting more and more rot, the way how we get worse and worse products, how every profession became a joke, how we are losing everything what mattered. It is a tendency and I am old enough to see it. Not just business-wise, but on society level. We just do not care anymore. And my generation is responsible for that, even if I fought against it in all my life.

Yes, I know Grok. I have no problem with a good tool (if it is good), I personally do not like him because he constantly tries to sell himself as an inventor, while he is an innovator and a good HR guy. Steve Jobs 2. But hey, we could chat elsewhere (like on discord) if you want; these are very much offtopic here.

Being old is not funny. If you are not old, you will learn it.

I’m on my way there hope to arrive safely.

You will start to lose things as your body wears out. You could delay it a bit, but not much (with average genetics). And as you are sharper than others, will understand day by day what you lose. Time wins. Time always wins.

Opus can be an order of magnitude more expensive. This pricing comes directly from the API - and Cursor has in-app warnings to encourage you to use different models or risk resource exhaustion.
