Add Deepseek R1 05/28 to Cursor

I honestly don’t understand how they’re not ashamed to give us a 60k context window for 1 premium request $0.04 — it’s outright robbery.
The model is already insanely cheap, but it seems like they’re deliberately throttling it so it doesn’t compete with other models.

Hey, I think it will be added to Cursor soon.

DeepSeek R1 05/28 should be available now!

Why it’s cost is 1x despite API being 5x cheaper? Can I somehow add my own API Key, set model name and base_url? I’ve tried to use it as OpenAI Api key (it is compatibile) but id didn’t seem to work

Specifically, please add support for the DeepSeek API. This worked by overriding the OpenAI API in versions 0.47 and earlier, but has been broken with DeepSeek R1 since at least 0.50.

DeepSeek R1 via the DeepSeek API is extremely powerful and cost effective. Not having access to it via Cursor severely limits Cursor’s utility compared to, say, plain VS Code with the Roo or Cline extensions (both of which support the DeepSeek API).

Can you please share what your infra looks like.

If you could post a “this is what runs cursor” that would be swell.

Hey, they’ve nerfed ‘deepseek-r1-0528’ again — now it has a 60k context per premium request ($0.04).
Why are you downgrading the ‘deepseek’ models?
