Describe the request

I often have a file open in the IDE and want to add that file to chat by right-clicking the file name in the tab and clicking “Add to Cursor Chat” like I can when I’m using the file explorer in the left pane.

That option is not available, so I must instead @ the file, or go hunt for it in the file explorer pane.

Both of those options are less than optimal when the file is already open because:

  1. @ often matches similarly named files… so it takes more keystrokes to select the right one.
  2. File explorer has many files and folders, so it takes more clicks and movements to find the right one.

IMHO the right-click menu for a file from the tab context should be quite similar, if not exactly the same, as the right click menu from the file explorer context.

But I will settle for just adding “Add to Cursor Chat”!
